Research Review analysis

A closer look at Kindroid

Product details, pricing, policies, and the questions that still need hands-on testing.

Kindroid is a custom AI companion platform built around persistent-memory claims, group chats, generated media, voice, and live calls. It also has one of the more complex pricing structures in this launch set: prices differ between web and app marketplaces, while Ultra and MAX stack on top of Standard.

This Research Review maps the current first-party record. It does not measure Kindroid’s memory or product performance, and no hands-on Scope Test has been completed.

What is Kindroid?

Kindroid documents conversation, companion customization, group chats, images, image editing, video selfies, voice, voice calls, video calls, and internet access. Web and iOS access are documented as available. Android availability is marked Needs recheck because it was not recently verified in the current record.

The platform also publishes detailed technical descriptions of context and memory capacity. Those specifications are useful for understanding the tiers, but they are product claims rather than CompanionScope test results.

Web and app prices must stay separate

On the web purchase channel, Standard costs $13.99 monthly, $37.99 quarterly, or $139.99 annually. App Store and Google Play amounts are higher in the current record: $15.99 monthly, $42.99 quarterly, or $159.99 annually.

The difference is not normalized away. The channel shown at checkout can materially change the base price, add-on price, slot purchases, voice credits, and credit-package prices. The quick snapshot surfaces the two monthly Standard prices; the detailed pricing tables preserve the full channel-specific records.

Free use is documented with a Lite model, limited Kindroids, limited selfie regeneration, basic long-term memory, and no paid Cascaded Memory. A three-day Premium trial requires payment and auto-converts unless cancelled.

Ultra and MAX are dependency-stacked add-ons

Ultra is not a standalone replacement price: it requires Standard. MAX requires both Standard and Ultra. The documented web add-on prices are $24.99 per month for Ultra and $59.99 per month for MAX. In app marketplaces, they are $28.99 and $68.99 respectively.

That dependency structure is essential to interpreting the tables. A MAX user may face a stacked total rather than the MAX line in isolation. One-time Kindroid and group-chat slots, additional voice credits, selfie credits, and live-call costs can add further spending, so the pricing record remains Partial rather than a universal True Cost.

Memory specifications are claims, not outcomes

Kindroid documents short-term context, Cascaded Memory, long-term memory, and journals. Standard is described at roughly 500K total context, Ultra at 1.3M, and MAX at 2.8M, with increasing short-term context and recalled long-term-memory or journal limits.

Larger published capacities do not automatically prove better recall. A Scope Test needs to examine whether important details are selected correctly, whether false memories emerge, how journals affect behavior, and whether improvements are noticeable across the stacked tiers.

Media, voice and live calls

Images, image editing, video, voice, voice calls, and video calls are documented. Standard includes one million audio characters per month in the structured pricing record; Ultra and MAX document larger monthly audio allowances. Additional voice credits are sold separately.

Live voice or video calls add a documented 400-credit connection or transcription charge for each completed or running 60-second block. The record also notes that one voice version consumes characters at 1.5 times another. This makes real call behavior and version choice important to total cost.

Adult capability depends on channel and context

Private adult text and ERP are documented. Explicit-image availability is more conditional: web, native-app, private, and public Kindroid Social contexts do not share one universal rule. App restrictions apply, and explicit sexual public social content is restricted.

A simple Available or Unavailable label would erase that distinction. The structured capability details retain the contexts, while this review avoids predicting output behavior.

Privacy and processing boundaries

First-party legal documentation describes encryption in transit and at rest and restricted normal business access. It also allows certain de-identified or aggregated processing. The current record does not support an end-to-end-encryption claim or an absolute assertion that data is never used in model-related processing.

Visible deletion, export, memory controls, and public-versus-private sharing behavior still require inspection in the live product.

What remains unknown

Important gaps include:

  • recently verified Android availability;
  • a universal monthly total across channel, tier stack, credits, slots, and calls;
  • real memory accuracy and the practical effect of the published context capacities;
  • media quality, call latency, and actual credit consumption;
  • adult boundaries across every channel and public or private context; and
  • live privacy and account-control behavior.

Research Review conclusion

Kindroid’s first-party record is unusually detailed about tiers, memory architecture, and channel-specific pricing. That detail makes careful presentation more important, not less: web and app prices should not be blended, and Ultra or MAX should not be shown as standalone totals.

The current evidence establishes the product structure and its major caveats. It does not establish memory performance, value, or superiority. Those judgments and any Scope Score must wait for a controlled hands-on test across the relevant tiers and channels.

Privacy, trust & caveats

Things to know from the documented evidence

These notes preserve source-backed caveats and inconsistencies without turning them into unsupported conclusions.

Product behavior

Tier capacities are product specifications

Context, memory, journal, and audio capacities vary across Standard, Ultra, and MAX. They are first-party documented specifications rather than CompanionScope performance results.

Pricing context

Audio-generation and live-call costs remain separate

Additional voice credits are sold in character blocks, V3 uses 1.5 times the V2 character cost, and live calls add a separate 400-credit connection or transcription charge per completed or running 60-second block.

Privacy

Encryption and processing boundaries

First-party legal documentation describes encryption in transit and at rest plus restricted normal business access, while allowing certain de-identified or aggregated processing. No end-to-end encryption or absolute no-model-use claim is inferred.

Restriction

Adult capability varies by context

Private adult text and the web NSFW media engine are documented, app restrictions apply, and explicit sexual public Kindroid Social content is restricted.
