Research Review analysis
A closer look at Candy AI
Product details, pricing, policies, and the questions that still need hands-on testing.
Candy AI is an AI companion service built around customizable realistic and anime characters. Its public information describes text chat, image and video generation, voice, and live voice calls. Web access is documented; native iOS and Android availability remains unknown.
This Research Review connects Candy AI’s product page, subscription page, Terms, and Privacy Policy as checked on August 9, 2026. It is a document-based analysis, not a completed hands-on Scope Test.
What is Candy AI?
Candy AI covers AI girlfriend, AI boyfriend, and custom-companion use cases, with realistic and anime character styles. Those are available formats, not a judgment on how convincing or consistent the characters feel.
The service is operated by EverAI Limited, identified in the Terms as a Malta-registered company under registration C107181. The web product is documented as available. Native iOS and Android access could not be independently verified, so both stay marked Unknown rather than unavailable.
How Candy AI works
The product combines companion selection or creation with ongoing text conversation. Customization shapes the character concept and presentation, while generated images, video, voice, and voice calls extend the experience beyond chat.
Paid plans include unlimited text messages and a monthly token allowance. That makes the subscription the entry cost, not necessarily the final cost: media and other token-dependent features may require additional resources, and the verified pricing record does not yet cover those costs completely.
Features and documented capabilities
Text conversation and companion customization form the documented core. A dedicated roleplay feature is not separately established, so the broader companion experience should not be treated as proof of a distinct roleplay mode.
Images, video, voice, and voice calls are also documented. The compact capability summary below separates straightforward availability from the features that need more context. Adult capability is documented with restrictions and should not be described as unrestricted.
Memory and personalization
Candy AI describes its memory system as providing “long-term contextual memory.” This is a platform claim, not a measured performance result. A future Scope Test needs to examine recall accuracy, consistency across longer conversations, and the controls available to users.
Customization is documented, but adaptation depth and personality stability remain open questions. The presence of controls alone cannot show how well a character sustains its intended personality over time.
Images, video and voice
Candy AI documents image and video generation alongside voice features and live voice calls. Some public Candy interfaces describe video generation and voice calls as beta, a qualification preserved in the capability details below.
Quality, character consistency across media, generation time, voice naturalness, and call latency still need hands-on evaluation. Cost is also incomplete: paid plans include tokens, but verified token consumption for media and voice is not detailed enough to build a realistic usage budget.
Candy AI pricing: subscription price is not total usage cost
The verified US public pricing shows three Premium durations. The one-month plan is $13.99. The three-month option costs $26.97 in total and is advertised as an $8.99 monthly equivalent. The twelve-month option costs $47.88 in total and is advertised as a $3.99 monthly equivalent. The two equivalents describe longer commitments, not separate month-to-month prices.
Each Premium option includes unlimited text messages while subscribed and 100 tokens per month. Subscription prices are therefore clear, but the full cost of heavier media use is not. Additional token-pack prices, dependable per-feature consumption rates, and tax-inclusive totals were not sufficiently verified.
Candy AI’s True Cost status remains partial. The table below shows the verified plan totals and allowances, but CompanionScope does not turn missing inputs into a monthly estimate. A complete cost picture will require observed token consumption and realistic usage scenarios.
Free access remains unclear
Candy AI’s marketing material advertises a seven-day free trial, while the Terms generally describe free users as able to send up to five messages before payment is required. The public documents do not explain how these two descriptions fit together.
They may apply to different flows or conditions, but neither is treated here as a universal offer. Readers interested in free access should check the terms shown to them before relying on a specific duration or message allowance.
Privacy and data considerations
The documents are also not fully aligned on training-related use. Marketing material says conversations are not used for training. The Terms and Privacy Policy describe broader rights involving development or training, de-identified or anonymized interaction data, and processing by third-party language-model providers. This is a documented discrepancy, not a conclusion about how an individual conversation will be handled.
The Privacy Policy says account data may generally be retained for up to three years after the last activity, subject to policy or legal exceptions. Financial data may be retained for ten years. Candy AI also describes automated moderation and human review of flagged material.
Privacy therefore deserves more than a quick marketing claim. These documents do not support labeling the service safe or unsafe. Readers who expect to share sensitive information should review the current Terms of Service and Privacy Policy. A Scope Test can later examine visible controls and deletion flows, but it cannot replace those documents.
Adult content and age requirements
Candy AI sets a minimum age of 18 and documents adult capability with restrictions. This review does not treat the service as unrestricted or evaluate explicit output quality and moderation behavior.
The available material does not separately establish adult-text and explicit-image access for every channel. The 18+ threshold and restrictions are documented; finer channel-by-channel distinctions remain unknown.
What we still don’t know
Several decision-relevant questions remain open:
- whether native iOS and Android apps are currently available;
- the complete geographic availability beyond the Terms’ restrictions on access from China and Singapore;
- additional token-pack prices, taxes, and normalized media or voice costs;
- the practical quality of conversation, memory, personality stability, images, video, voice, and the overall experience;
- how adult text and adult media access differ by channel; and
- how privacy controls and deletion work in the live product.
These are boundaries of the available information, not assumed weaknesses.
Research Review conclusion
Candy AI is documented as a customizable, web-accessible AI companion service with text chat, a memory claim, generated media, voice features, paid subscriptions, and restricted 18+ capability. The official records also identify the operator, subscription totals, recurring allowances, policy documents, and material caveats.
The biggest unanswered questions concern experience and total cost. Memory, conversation quality, media reliability, and voice behavior remain untested. Token pricing and consumption are incomplete, free-access descriptions conflict, and the marketing, Terms, and Privacy documents differ on training-related use.
This Research Review shows what is known, claimed, disputed, and still unknown. A future Candy AI Scope Test must examine longer interactions, real token consumption, and privacy controls before CompanionScope can publish a score, comparative verdict, or recommendation.
